Porsche continues to dabble in new technologies and services that meet consumer demands for greater convenience — the latest example being the Canadian launch of a short-term rental program in the greater Montreal area.
Known as Porsche Drive, the service will allow drivers to rent vehicles like the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and the 911 from one hour to a full week. The vehicles are available as part of a program offered by Porsche Centre Rive-Sud, located on Montreal’s south shore.
“The Porsche Drive program is part of a worldwide new mobility services pilot that underscores the brand’s efforts and commitment in offering sporty mobility solutions for the future,” said Porsche Cars Canada via its news release. “Another example is Porsche Passport, a U.S. offering introduced last year, which allows participants to reserve models based on their membership level.”
The idea for the program was created and launched at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart in May 2014. The service has since expanded to include another two locations in Germany, one in Switzerland, and the most recent addition can be found in Brossard, Que.
