Michael Sprague, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at Kia Motors America, has announced his intention to leave the company on April 17, 2018.
“On behalf of Kia Motors America, we thank Michael for his contributions to the company, and we wish him success in all his future endeavours,” said SeungKyu (Sean) Yoon, President and CEO of KMA.
According to the automaker’s news release, Sprague is leaving his position at Kia to pursue new opportunities. He was with the company for nine years, during which he launch several new vehicles, such as the Kia Soul, Niro and Stinger.
Sprague has also helped expand the carmaker’s marketing footprint through Super Bowl advertising and sports marketing relationships with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), among other things.
He has yet to appoint a successor for his role at Kia before he leaves.
