CIAS to host 40 vehicle reveals during media day

A total of 40 vehicles are expected to be revealed during Media Preview Day for the 2018 Canadian International AutoShow, further positioning Toronto as a “leader for automotive debuts in Canada,” according to a CIAS news release.

“Headlining an impressive roster of reveals are three North American debuts and seven concepts that will be shown in Canada for the first time,” said CIAS in its press release. “These debuts not only reflect the health and vitality of the Canadian auto industry, but they also underline Toronto’s importance on the auto show landscape in North America.”

Thirty-eight premieres are scheduled for February 15th, set to take place on the main show floor of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Two Canadian reveals are also scheduled for the Auto Exotica area located in the North Building.

The winners of the 2018 Canadian Car and Utility Vehicles of the Year will also be announced the same day. Currently, the short list includes six potential winners, with Mazda leading the way in three separate categories.

AJAC will also present three additional awards at the show: the Best Green Innovation, the Best Safety Innovation and Best Technical Innovation. This announcement will take place on February 21 in the John Bassett Theatre.

In addition to these events, CIAS will host other attractions such as exhibits celebrating 50 Years of Hot Wheels, 70 Years of Porsche and Art & the Automobile presented by the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
