Cox Automotive campaign tackles distracted, impaired driving

Cox Automotive Canada has announced the release of a series of videos about the dangers of driving impaired or distracted as part of its campaign to raise awareness about the issue.

“As an automotive company, it is important to continue to remind Canadians of the risks of impaired and distracted driving,” said Maria Soklis, President of Cox Automotive Canada. “If this campaign saves even one life, it will have been worthwhile.”

The company says an average of four Canadians are killed every day because of impaired driving crashes, and that distracted driving now contributes to 80 per cent of collisions. It’s the number one risk on the road, according to the news release.

The campaign will feature three videos with several company executives from its Dealertrack and NextGear Capital businesses. The goal is to capture the attention of the automotive community and Canadian consumers during the holiday season due to the number of festivities. Cox Automotive Canada plans to promote the campaign through its media channels.
