Construction on B.C.’s largest Toyota dealership begins

The construction of Canada’s largest Toyota dealership in B.C. is currently underway, according to OpenRoad Auto Group.

Construction of the new OpenRoad Toyota Richmond dealership was officially launched following an official groundbreaking ceremony. The 205,000 square foot, $50-million Toyota facility will be located in the Richmond Auto Mall and is set to replace the current dealership down the road from the new site.

“With two Toyota stores in Richmond and Port Moody, OpenRoad has a long history and a strong brand alignment with Toyota Canada that dates back almost 40 years,” said Christian Chia, President of OpenRoad Auto Group. “So this new store is especially exciting for us because it will allow us to deliver an elevated Toyota customer experience in a facility like none other in the entire country.”

The new dealership will include a 15,000 square feet showroom that can hold up to 36 vehicles on two levels, and feature ten indoor new vehicle delivery bays. The facility will also feature 30 service bays, two alignment bays, a service café, customer lounges, a play area for children, a customer drive-through service reception, express service bays, two automatic car washes and six detail bays, according to the news release.

The new dealership will be completed in 2019.

OpenRoad Auto Group was established in 2000 and is the largest dealership group in B.C. It includes more than 1,100 associates that represent 18 auto brands at 22 car dealerships.
