KBB lists 10 Best Automotive Technologies of 2018

Kelley Blue Book has announced the 10 Best Automotive Technologies of 2018. The list is meant to help new car buyers navigate the numerous in-car features available to consumers.

The list is a good example of how the focus has shifted from the powertrain to the technological aspect of a vehicle, and how potential shoppers can interact with increasingly sophisticated cars.

“Where driving dynamics, comfort and safety are concerned, modern vehicles are steadily marching down a path toward parity. As such, technology has blossomed into one of the last great differentiators amongst competing models,” said Michael Harley, group managing editor for Kelley Blue Book. “The tech we’ve identified as the best for 2018 should be considered when searching for your next new vehicle.”

The top ten technologies for 2018 are as follows:

  1. Connected mobile apps
  2. Teen driver technology
  3. Adaptive cruise control
  4. LED/Xenon headlights
  5. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
  6. USB ports
  7. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  8. Lane Departure Warning
  9. Automatic Emergency Braking
  10. 360-Degree Camera

Regardless of price point, consumers should be able to find a vehicle that offers most of the above-mentioned features, according to Harley, who adds that “they’re all very helpful.”
