Honda Canada donates $750,000 to Matthews House hospice

Honda Canada announced on Monday that it would donate $750,000 donation in support of the Matthews House capital campaign, according to the company’s news release.

Matthews House launched a campaign in 2016 to help build a new, state-of-the-art 10-bed facility. They have also expanded their services to families in South Simcoe. The Ontario-based organization helps people with a palliative care diagnoses or chronic disease live life to the fullest.

“As a supporter of Matthews House hospice since they opened their doors in 2004, the Honda Canada Foundation is pleased to strengthen our partnership with this significant $750,000 donation,” said Bill Easdale, Senior Vice President of Honda of Canada Mfg. and Vice Chair of the Honda Canada Foundation.

“We are honoured to be a part of this project that will accommodate the growing needs of patients and their families in and around this community,” he said.

The donation will go towards the new facility and towards providing supplementary hospice services and palliative support for families in South Simcoe and surrounding area, according to the news release.
