Students shine at Georgian auto show

The sun brightened up the opening ceremonies for the 32nd annual Georgian College Auto Show in June as dignitaries and students gathered on the Barrie campus.

The largest outdoor, student-run auto show in North America gives students attending the Automotive Business School of Canada a chance to show they have all the skills, work ethic and experience to manage real-world auto industry events.

MaryLynn West-Moynes, President and CEO of Georgian College was on hand to help officially open the event. “The auto show is celebrating 32 years of students taking the initiative, and applying their skills,” said West-Moynes.

Daniel Montesanti, an ABSC student who had the role of director of marketing and media relations, served as emcee for the event, and introduced the speakers and dignitaries.

Among them was John White, President and CEO of the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association. “This auto show is a live example of a learning laboratory. The experience of being involved in this auto show will serve all of you very well as you pursue your careers in our industry,” said White. “You the students here today have chosen well in your fields of study. There are countless opportunities.”

This year’s theme was “Experience Innovation.” For more details visit: GeorgianAutoShow.ca.
