Gary Filippini, Senior Managing Partner, The Marckis Group
The Marckis Group has announced the appointment of Gary Filippini to Senior Managing Partner.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Gary to our team and give him the opportunity to expand our executive search practice,” says Ian McEwen, President of The Marckis Group.
McEwen highlighted Filippini’s accounting and business administration backgrounds and his “extensive experience” in human resources as being “invaluable” to The Marckis Group’s enhanced ability to deliver a wide range of HR services to its automotive clients.
In addition to automotive executive recruiting, The Marckis Group is responding to a growing number of client requests to expand its offerings to include a variety of services such as contract and part-time assignments, outplacement and general HR consulting services.
Filippini and McEwen first began collaborating after Filippini began working at Subaru Canada. His 25-year tenure at Subaru included responsibilities as a senior-level corporate planning, finance, human resource and customer loyalty advisor.
Filippini credits McEwen and his organization for having connected Subaru Canada to some of the industry’s top talent, helping Subaru grow from roughly 5,000 vehicles sold per year to nearly 50,000 today.
“In addition to their extensive breadth and depth of knowledge within the automotive industry, the Marckis team had a very thorough understanding of Subaru’s culture, work environment and way of conducting business which meant that potential candidates were identified and brought forward based largely on having a high level of compatibility with this culture,” explains Filippini.
Despite the growing number of online recruitment tools available, Filippini says The Marckis Group’s advantage is its extensive industry insight, experience and knowledge combined with its network of contacts and close relationships which go beyond almost every segment of the automotive space — this includes owners, presidents and members of the C-suite down to mid-level managers.
“With Gary as our newly appointed Senior Managing Partner, it is our goal to continue to build sustainable, winning teams with our growing list of clients in the automotive marketplace,” adds McEwen.
