AutoCanada Inc. names new exec

One of Canada’s largest automobile dealership groups, AutoCanada Inc., has named Mark Warsaba as its new Senior Vice-President & Chief Operations Officer, effective April 1, 2017.

“I have tremendous confidence in Mark’s ability to align our business with industry-leading operational practices that will drive and extend the next-generation of AutoCanada’s market leadership,” said AutoCanada President and CEO, Steven Landry, in a statement released on March 21.

Warsaba will oversee the operational performance of existing dealerships “as well as the integration and subsequent performance of new dealerships,” said the release. He will be responsible for the implementation of industry best practices with an emphasis on same-store execution, financial performance and integration.

Warsaba joined AutoCanada as dealer principal with Audi Winnipeg & St. James Volkswagen in Winnipeg, in 2013. He had previously served in various leadership roles with Volkswagen Canada for 11 years; prior to those years, he was responsible for logistics operations management for nine years.

“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work alongside this terrific team and help to drive AutoCanada’s continued success,” said Warsaba in the release.

One of Canada’s largest multi-location automobile dealership groups, AutoCanada operates 56 franchised dealerships, made up of 64 franchises in eight provinces and employs more than 4,250 people. It sold approximately 60,000 vehicles in 2016 and processed approximately 864,000 service and collision repair orders, according to the release.
