It may appear somewhat contradictory for a digital automotive service business to open a bricks and mortar office. However, Cox Automotive Canada, a pioneer in the auto industry, views its new Manheim office in British Columbia as a functionally necessary component to grow business.

Canadian auto dealer was invited to attend the grand opening of Cox Automotive/Manheim Vancouver’s new regional office on Oct.5.

“Dealers always want integrated solutions. We think this is a great opportunity for us to come in, manage those brands and offer even better, more efficient solutions,” said Maria Soklis, President, Cox Automotive Canada. “The market is changing fast and drastically. The digital influence has produced new buyer trends and different dynamics in the market.”

“We strive to be a true partner with dealerships and help them navigate and evolve in a way that makes sense for them,” Soklis added. “Having consulted with dealers, dealer associations and customers we realized that this market (Greater Vancouver) offers a unique opportunity to provide a digital solution that will meet today’s market requirements.”

An all-digital Vancouver auto auction will be based on one that is similar to a model that already operates in the U.K., and will use local partners in British Columbia, said Soklis.

“We will pick up and deliver vehicles, which is particularly important in a market like Vancouver as traffic can make it difficult to get around. If the vehicle needs an inspection, servicing or detailing we will also provide that service,” said Soklis.
