Let the rim-rolling rituals begin

The 2016 Honda Civic Sedan EX-T is one of 40 grand prizes in this year’s Tim Hortons RRRoll Up the Rim to Win contest which runs until April 17, 2016, or until cup supplies run out. And given the popularity of the contest among coffee-drinking Canadians, the latter is entirely likely.
There’s even a rim-rolling ritual preferred by more than 50 per cent of contest aficionados who responded to an online survey commissioned by the company.

Slow and steady thumb rolling is number one roll technique, while other popular methods include using the teeth (preferred by 24 per cent), and the trusty flatten out and roll (preferred by 12 per cent). Good luck rituals are used by more than half of respondents, and range from finishing the whole drink before rolling, rolling the rim the same way every time, and visiting the same location each time.

“From day one, RRRoll Up the Rim to Win has been about thanking our amazing guests,” says David Clanachan, president and COO of Tim Hortons Canada. “It’s great to see that, 30 years later, our guests have adopted their own rituals and continue to make RRRoll Up their own.”

This year, the contest offers a new way to win with RRRoll Up At Home. Until the end of February, purchasers of participating packaged coffee or hot beverage product for at-home brewing can take a photo of their receipt, upload it to www.rollupathome.com and register to play for a chance to win one of 10,000 prizes

The RRRoll Up to Win Replay online game is also offering chances to win prizes — more than 250,000 of them, including grand prizes of an all-new Honda Civic Sedan EX-T, 10 LG 4K OLED TVs, 75 LG Watch Urbanes and 10 prizes of free Tim Hortons packaged coffee for a year.
Visit www.rolluptherimtowin.ca to play until March 16.
