Country music star Jason McCoy’s rides offer the best of both worlds

Celebrity: Jason McCoy
Profession: Award-winning country music singer and songwriter
Vehicle: 2000 Porsche 911 and 2001 Chevy Silverado

Country music star Jason McCoy has racked up countless awards from the Canadian Country Music Association, SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada), and the Country Music Association. He even won the CMA’s coveted 2006 Global Artist of the Year Award in Nashville, Tenn. But the 44-year-old isn’t just a solo artist. He’s also the founder and frontman of The Road Hammers — the highest selling band in Canadian country music history. The band released its latest album called Wheels and isnow criss-crossing Canada on a national music tour. When McCoy isn’t on the road, he divides his time between Nashville, Tenn. and Barrie, Ont. He’s married with two kids.

“It has unbelievable handling in the corners. I don’t know how they engineer it, but it can handle anything you throw at it. It even has a cassette player! Awesome! I dig out old road trip cassettes and it’s the best thing ever!”

“It’s out of my league. I guess it says you never know what’s going to happen in life. I’m a simple guy. I have a farm in Canada where I drive a 2001 Chevy Silverado. To tell you the truth it’s really my favourite!”

“Pretentious as it sounds, I keep my Porsche 911 in Nashville, Tenn. It chose me. A fella owed me some money and well, let’s just say I ended up with a fancy German sports car.”
