Mike Jackson to headline CADA Summit

Jacksonbio-300The leader of North America’s largest automotive retail group, Mike Jackson, Chairman and CEO of AutoNation, will be a keynote speaker at the 3rd annual CADA Summit held Feb. 11, 2015 in Toronto at the Hyatt Regency.

Jackson is widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in automotive retailing and his company’s 277 stores across 15 states makes his group powerful by its sheer size alone. On its corporate website, the company describes itself as the “largest pure-play automotive retail company in America.”

Jackson has been CEO of AutoNation since 1999, and was previously the CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA and was an automotive retailer from 1979 to 1990.

Over the course of his career, Jackson has won numerous awards and received industry accolades, including induction as an Automotive Hall of Fame Industry Leader. In 2009, Jackson was named by Automotive News as one of the industry’s 50 Visionary Dealers of all time. Jackson is a seven-time member of the Automotive News “All-Star Team” of automotive executives and a four-time member of Advertising Age’s “Marketing 100. In May 2011, Ernst & Young honored Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement Award under its Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program.

Jackson is also one of the nation’s leading speakers on energy. He has spoken recently to Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, William J. Clinton School of Public Policy, Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations and the North American International Powertrain Conference.

The CADA Summit was sold out last year, and organizers are urging dealers who want to attend to register early to book their spot.

Apart from the keynotes from industry leaders, the CADA Summit features thought-provoking sessions on the economic outlook for dealers, a panel of manufacturers, (featuring Hyundai Auto Canada, Jaguar Land Rover Canada and Toyota Canada), and a session showcasing the insights and learnings from the most recently named CADA Laureates.
