Chrysler recognizes 30 dealers for environmental consciousness

Chrysler Group has recognized some 30 different dealerships in 19 states for their progressive environmentally conscious and energy saving operations.

Under the so-called ECO initiative, stores that demonstrate outstanding efforts in the areas of waste recycling, energy efficiency, bulk oil containment, vehicle lift maintenance, waste water control and community relations, have received national recognition.

Among those nominated, Hunter Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Lancaster, California, uses solar panel carports that generate energy while protecting customer’s vehicles from the elements, while another, Milosch’s Palace in Lake Orion, Michigan, used recycled motor oil to heat the dealership and adjacent collision centre; these are just some of the initiatives being employed to improve efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

Each of the 30 dealers recognized for their ECO achievements, received a bamboo display plaque, while each store’s employees got bamboo encased flash drives.

“The Dealer ECO Program is a vital initiative that supports Chrysler Group’s commitment to creating a sustainable enterprise,” remarked Peter Grady, Chrysler Group’s vice president of Network Development & Fleet. “We commend these dealerships for their efforts and look forward to sharing their examples with others in order to expand and strengthen our shared commitment to sustainability.”
