At this year’s Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS), the annual Charity Preview Evening on January 12, hosted by comedian Jose Gaudet, proved to be an unmitigated success, raising some $527,861.01 in support of local medical charities, namely the Fondation du CHUM, the Montréal Sacré-Coeur Hospital Foundation, the Pierre-Boucher Hospital Foundation, Santa Cabrini Foundation and the McGill University Health Centre Foundation.
The evening, which includes music, dinner and prizes, plus a silent auction, saw 3,467 people attend, with the silent auction alone generating $24,900.
The Charity Preview evening was first instigated at the MIAS back in 2005 and since then has gone from strength to strength. During its seven-year existence, the one-night event has raised a total of some $2.8 million for Hospitals and medical foundations in the Greater Montreal Area.
