It inhabits a somewhat unique position in the Canadian automotive marketplace. Nonetheless, as part of a corporate wide plan to inject a bit of pizzazz into its range of vehicles, Lexus has added a F-Sport Package to the 2012 CT 200h.
Building upon the existing Premium and Touring packages, the F-Sport option, inspired by that found on the LFA Supercar and ISF sedans, incorporates performance tuned dampers, special 17-inch F-Sport alloy wheels, specific F-Sport exterior badging, along with a specific F-Sport front grille and rear deck spoiler. Inside; as part of the package are aluminum sport pedals with rubber inserts, a three-spoke F-Sport steering wheel, F-Sport front bucket seats, special interior door scuff plates and metal trim fixtures.
Other improvements on the 2012 CT 200h include a standard Proximity Notification System, designed to make the car more audibly noticeable to pedestrians when traveling in electric vehicle mode below speeds of 25 km/h, as well as an additional interior storage compartment with a 12-volt power supply.
The 2012 CT 200h (already being shipped to dealers) provides a fairly unique blend of thrift and performance (thanks to its full dual-mode Hybrid driveline and responsive handling with MacPherson strut front and fully independent double-wishbone rear suspension). Now, the car’s sporting credentials look set to be further enhanced, via the availability of the F-Sport package.
