Volvo names new CFO, Retail Director in Canadian leadership shift

Volvo Car Canada has unveiled key leadership changes as the company prepares for a new phase of growth and transformation in the Canadian market.

Longtime executive Mark McDade, Director of Retailer Development and Customer Experience, will retire at the end of December, concluding nearly a decade of leadership focused on strengthening Volvo’s national retail network. McDade joined the automaker in 2016 and has helped boost retailer profitability and customer satisfaction across the country.

Taking over his portfolio is Louis Leung, who has been promoted from National Sales Operations Manager to Director, Retailer Development and Customer Experience. Leung will lead retailer network strategy and customer experience initiatives.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Choksi, previously Commercial Sales, Incentives and Fleet Manager, has been named Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Choksi will oversee financial operations and long-term business planning.

“I have great confidence in both Yusuf and Louis as they take on these new leadership roles,” said Matt Girgis, Managing Director of Volvo Car Canada, in a statement. “Each brings a deep understanding of our business and embodies the Volvo DNA — collaborative, forward-thinking, and committed to excellence.”

McDade retires after more than three decades in the automotive and retail industries, including senior roles with Nissan Canada, Adidas, and The Rockport Company. Both Choksi and Leung bring nearly two decades of experience in the luxury vehicle sector, including past leadership positions with Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, and Lexus.

These changes signal Volvo Car Canada’s commitment to investing in leadership continuity and strengthening its retailer network as the brand moves deeper into the era of electrified mobility.
