NHTSA to probe 765K Tesla cars for crashes involving Autopilot

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will launch an investigation into some 765,000 cars from Tesla (including the Models Y, 3, S and X) and its Autopilot Level 2 driver-assistance functions. According to CNET, the Office of Defects Investigation document shows it is aware of 11 crashes or fires, 17 injuries, and one reported fatality. “Tesla vehicles have ‘encountered first responder scenes and subsequently struck one or more vehicles involved with those scenes,’ the preliminary report said.” (Source: CNET) Read the original story…
