AAA study: driver-assist systems not reliable enough

A report by the American Automobile Association (AAA), which studied various 2019 and 2020 vehicles, found that driver-assist systems in new vehicles are often not reliable; the ones they tested experienced (on average) issues nearly every 13 kilometres. The agency tested BMW, Cadillac, Ford, Kia, and Subaru systems. “Manufacturers need to work toward more dependable technology, including improving lane keeping assistance and providing more adequate alerts,” said Greg Brannon, Director of Automotive Engineering and Industry Relations, AAA.
