Nissan U.K. factory will be “unsustainable” without EU trade deal

If Britain leaves the European Union without a trade deal, Nissan’s car manufacturing plant in Sunderland, England will become “unsustainable”, according to the OEM’s global chief operating head, Ashwani Gupta. “You know we are the number one carmaker in the U.K. and we want to continue. We are committed. Having said that, if we are not getting the current tariffs, it’s not our intention but the business will not be sustainable.” The plant employs 7,000 people.
