The Honda Accord and Chrysler Pacifica received Canada’s highest automotive honours after being named the 2018 Canadian Car and Utility Vehicle of the Year during the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.
“We’re thrilled to declare the Honda Accord to be the Canadian Car of the Year for 2018, and the Chrysler Pacifica to be the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year,” said Mark Richardson, President of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC). “They’ve both been decided through the most vigorous system of testing possible by AJAC’s automotive professionals. They’re both deserving of being considered the very best vehicles you can buy in 2018.”
The vehicles are evaluated throughout the year and are tested in a variety of conditions. They are scored anonymously based on factors like design, features, performance, technology, fuel consumption and value for money. Those with the highest scores in each category become the winners in their respective group.
Canadian auto dealer was on site for the announcement of the winners, and for the events that followed during Media Preview Day at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre where the show took place.
