Hyundai Auto Canada will bring its CRATER Concept to Montreal this week for its Canadian premiere at the 2026 Montreal Auto Show, running Jan. 16-25 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

First shown publicly at AutoMobility LA in November, the all-electric off-road SUV concept is scheduled for a media debut on the show’s press day, Thursday, Jan. 15, before appearing for the public during the 10-day event. Concepts don’t directly move metal, but they can signal where product and marketing are headed — particularly around electrified SUVs with outdoors branding.

“The Montreal Auto Show is an essential platform for major Canadian premieres and for showcasing innovations that are shaping the future of the automotive industry,” said Luis Pereira, General Manager of the Montreal Auto Show, in a statement.

Hyundai said the concept was developed at the Hyundai America Technical Center in Irvine, California, and leans into rugged styling. (The OEM’s booth is also expected to include interactive activations tied to its community and sports partnerships.)

“We are very pleased to welcome Hyundai’s CRATER Concept, a vehicle that perfectly illustrates the evolution of electrified mobility while responding to the growing interest of visitors in rugged, versatile, outdoor-oriented vehicles,” said Pereira.
