Auto Shield has appointed longtime automotive executive Scott Ashby as Senior Vice-President of Operations, marking a key leadership addition as the company continues its national expansion and digital transformation.
The Oakville-based provider of protection products and claims administration solutions said Ashby will oversee operations, dealer relations and the evolution of its client concierge and claims experience. In a news release, Don Miller, principal of Auto Shield, said Ashby’s mix of strategy and hands-on operational experience made him a strong fit for the role.
“His deep understanding of both the dealership and OEM ecosystems aligns perfectly with our mission to redefine protection and the claims experience for customers and dealer partners across North America,” he said in a statement.
Ashby brings more than 30 years of experience across OEM, warranty and protection program operations. His background includes leadership positions at Hyundai Capital Canada, Toyota Financial Services, Sym-Tech Dealer Services, Safe-Guard Products Canada, Nissan Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company of Canada.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a Class A licensed technician. He holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University and a BBA in Automotive Marketing from Northwood University and is a Six Sigma Green Belt recipient.
Auto Shield said the appointment reflects its focus on strengthening dealer partnerships and scaling its programs across Ontario, Western Canada, the Atlantic region and emerging U.S. markets.
