Autech-Otis rolls out smart parking system for global cities

Automotive technology continues to evolve, with the latest news coming from Autech-Otis Parking Systems; the company introduced a next-generation mechanical parking solution aimed at high-density urban centres worldwide. The new “XY” system allows vehicles to move horizontally and vertically to help optimize parking capacity in tight city spaces.

Founded in 2016 as a joint venture with elevator manufacturer Otis, Autech-Otis is known within Korea’s mechanical parking sector. The company’s new system marks its latest step in expanding globally, with target markets including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

“Demand for next-generation parking systems as a key component of smart city infrastructure is rapidly increasing in the global market,” said Autech-Otis through a representative in a news release. They added that the company “aims to become a global leader shaping the new future of parking culture.”

The XY design features a compact structure and advanced control system that adapts to both underground and above-ground spaces, making it suitable for mixed-use buildings, airports, and smart city projects. It also integrates electric vehicle charging and noise-reduction technology.

“With our parking specialized expertise, we will continue to provide optimal, customized solutions for clients facing challenges in securing sufficient parking space,” said Autech-Otis’s representative.

The company’s expansion reflects broader momentum in automated parking technologies, as cities seek to make better use of limited land and reduce congestion through smart infrastructure. As dealerships modernize facilities to meet electric and digital retail demands, innovations in vertical and automated parking are emerging as interesting and useful tools to improve throughput and customer experience without expanding their physical footprint.
