The Roadmap to Billions conference returned to the Greater Toronto Area this year, uniting leaders from automotive and technology sectors under one powerful theme: inclusion drives innovation.
Presented by Accelerate Auto and Black Women Talk Tech (BWTT), the two-day event at the Living Arts Centre featured panels, fireside chats, and networking opportunities designed to connect founders and executives shaping the future of mobility and tech.
“After the success of our first year, attendees and partners wanted more — more access, more conversations and more pathways for entrepreneurs to grow through technology and collaboration,” said Regina Gwynn, Co-Founder of BWTT.
Highlights included a founders’ panel featuring BWTT’s Esosa Ighodaro and Wiz Learning CEO Kyla Bolden, moderated by Stephanie Henry of She Auto Know, as well as discussions on AI, venture capital, and the next wave of innovation.
A key session for the auto industry: “Driving the Future: AI, Privacy, and Innovation in the Automotive Industry” powered by Accelerate Auto, featured Canadian Black Book President Yolanda Biswah, GM Canada’s Faithlyn Hemmings, and PwC Canada’s Dina Maxwell. Moderated by automotive journalist Kay Layne, the panel examined AI ethics, data transparency, and the evolving mobility landscape.
“As automotive and tech continue to merge, Black women must be part of these conversations,” said Shannon Miller, Executive Director of Accelerate Auto. “Our partnership with BWTT helps ensure pathways for women to lead in the industries shaping our future.”
The conference also hosted a live pitch competition, where Compcrafter founder IG Ajagunna won the $10,000 top prize, and featured mentorship and networking sessions that connected founders with experts and investors.
“Standing in that room felt like watching the future unfold in real time,” said Shevonne Chin, Founder of Flik FX. “Roadmap to Billions reminds the world that when Black women build, the world shifts for the better.”
