Hyundai once again, through its charitable foundation Hyundai Hope on Wheels, and with its 225 Hyundai dealers nationally, donated to kid’s cancer care — this time to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

The charity presented a $100,000 cheque to the hospital, while Capital Hyundai announced an additional donation of $50,000. The donations, meant to support paediatric cancer care and research for young patients in Newfoundland and Labrador, were announced during a cheque presentation in St. John’s.

“Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre has made a profound impact on oncology patients and their families across Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Ken Maisonville, Executive Director of Customer Experience and Aftersales at Hyundai Canada, in a statement.

For Hyundai dealers across the country, initiatives like this highlight the industry’s broader role beyond the showroom, helping drive meaningful change in the communities they serve. The OEM’s charity has contributed more than $225 million to childhood cancer research since its launch in the U.S. in 1998.

As is traditional for the OEM, Hyundai Hope on Wheels also hosted its signature Handprint Ceremony that invites children affected by cancer to place their painted handprints on a white Hyundai vehicle, alongside families, care teams, and community members.

”Each handprint ceremony is a powerful tribute to the courage and resilience of the children and families facing cancer,” said Maisonville in a statement. “It’s a battle no one should face alone, and one that is fought and won through the strength of community and the dedication of the incredible medical teams.”
