Transparency and trust

A new provider is trying a different approach to the F&I business

Jonah Larmor and David Bosch have decades of experience in car retail and insurance, and together they’ve combined their expertise to form AutoDrive, a Canadian company built for dealers by people who have worked in dealerships and F&I departments across the country.

Larmor and Bosch spent many years working with a well-known Canadian dealer services company, gaining deep insight into the opportunities and shortcomings within the industry.

Larmor said it was that experience — and the gaps they witnessed — that inspired them to create AutoDrive, which is focused on putting more control, transparency and long-term profitability back into the hands of the dealer.

“AutoDrive isn’t just another product — it’s a movement to redefine how insurance and F&I products are sold in Canada,” said Larmor. “We’re putting control back into the hands of the people who’ve earned it – the dealers. We’re deeply committed to supporting local businesses, and focused on helping automotive groups across the country thrive with clarity, compassion and complete ownership of their backend operations.”

“We’ve built a true profit-sharing model,” said Larmor. “Dealers know exactly what they’re earning from every contract.”

AutoDrive operates as a multi-product platform that allows dealers to build long-term, sustainable revenue and customer loyalty. The company partners with Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company, a publicly-traded, A- rated company for its warranty and creditor products. Its ancillary offerings — including tire and rim protection, key and fob coverage, dent and ding protection, and other F&I products — are administered in collaboration with Tripac, a trusted industry administrator.

Registered in B.C. in 2023 and officially launched in early 2024, AutoDrive has quickly made inroads across the country. Its focus is on providing dealers with tailored custom warranty and ancillary products built with a consumer-first mindset.

With its recent expansion into Quebec, AutoDrive has partnered with more than 40 automotive and powersport dealerships to date. Larmor said the goal is to have a minimum of 100 combined automotive, powersport and RV dealer partners signed on by the end of 2025. The company aims to expand into Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario by the end of 2026.

“One of the reasons this company is unique is that its programs have been built for dealers by people who’ve worked in dealerships and as F&I executives,” said Larmor. “The people who work here have sat in the chair of a dealership. We understand the pressures, the margins and the need for real support — not more red tape.”

AutoDrive’s suite of products includes extended warranties (both full coverage and limited liability), standalone EV coverage — one of the first of its kind in Canada — powersports and RV protection. It offers a full line of creditor insurance covering life, disability, critical illness and job loss

Larmor said what makes AutoDrive unique is its focus on creating win-win opportunities for both dealer and customer.

“We’ve built a true profit-sharing model,” said Larmor. “Dealers know exactly what they’re earning from every contract. If you want to self-insure, we’ll show you how. If you prefer fully-insured products, we’ll give you competitive pricing and strong margins. Either way, it’s a clear and structured approach.”

The company uses retention tools to help dealers stay connected with their customers, alerting them when warranty policies are about to mature.

“It’s more than just a reminder,” said Larmor. “It’s an opportunity for dealers to sell another warranty, discuss a trade-in or help a customer move into a new vehicle. It’s about extending the customer lifecycle and boosting repeat business.”

Larmor said AutoDrive is investing in pre-qualification and AI technology that integrates seamlessly into dealer websites and digital retail platforms at no cost to a dealer. This allows customers to pre-qualify for credit online, making the sales process smoother and more efficient — ultimately increasing both vehicle sales and F&I product penetration.

He emphasized that AutoDrive is proud to be a Canadian company, built for Canadian dealers.

“Our products, pricing and compliance are tailored to Canadian dealers — in both English and French — and we’re committed to supporting their growth from British Columbia to Quebec and beyond,” said Larmor.
