Kijiji announced the launch of Kijiji Autos back in October of last year with the ambitious goal of simplifying car shopping for Canadians. The app and website went live at the end of 2018 and allow consumers to research and find new or used, private or dealer cars and trucks.
Since its launch Kijiji Autos has been gaining ground in the Quebec automotive market, where it has just named Jean-François Blaquière as its new Head of Sales for Quebec.
Blaquière brings extensive automotive experience to the Kijiji Autos team, with eight years at Groupe Park Avenue, a well-known dealer group in the Greater Montreal area. Blaquière excelled in a number of different roles during his time at Groupe Park Avenue, including Sales Representative, Digital Marketing Manager, Business Development Centre Manager and Director of Special Projects, where he played a key role in accelerating the dealership’s digital transformation.
Blaquière will use his experience and skills to provide strategic support and digital marketing counsel to new and existing dealership customers as he takes on the responsibility of the continued growth of Kijiji Autos in the province. In addition to understanding and responding to dealers needs, he will also lead, support and grow Kijiji Autos Quebec sales team, with the ultimate goal of solidifying the company’s market position.
“I recognize that dealers need a true partner that understands their needs more than a mere vendor,” Blaquière said in a recent press release. “Through my years of experience, I know how to build meaningful dealer-vendor relationships. As the new Quebec Head of Sales, my purpose will be to drive performance for dealers through valuable leads and help move dealership businesses forward,” he said.
Kijiji Autos, which offers consumers dealer ratings, reviews and price analysis tools certainly has the potential to drive dealer performance. However, the dealer-vendor relationship Blaquière mentions will be critical in ensuring Kijiji Autos maintains a comprehensive vehicle inventory for consumers of new, used, certified pre-owned, and classic cars.
