Chinese automaker Byton is the first company of the East Asian nation to join the Association of Global Automakers as a result of its efforts in “guiding the future of mobility on a global scale,” according to the company’s news release.
“Our acceptance into the Global Automakers group is strong recognition for Byton as a driving force in the new era of smart mobility,” said Dr. Carsten Breitfeld, CEO and Co-Founder of Byton. “We look forward to working with this important group to highlight not just Byton’s R&D leadership in the US, but also its global footprint as a technology company pushing the envelope for what is possible with a passenger vehicle.”
Byton’s business extends past China to include countries in the U.S. and Europe, where they have facilities dedicated to research and development, design, manufacturing and business operations.
Global Automakers is a trade association based in Washington D.C., that collaborates with member companies on public policies, and brings together experts from the U.S. operations of auto manufacturers, suppliers, mobility innovators and other related companies and trade associations to help move the state of personal transportation forward.
“We are excited to have new entrants, like BYTON, join the Association in envisioning fresh ways of addressing society’s transportation needs,” said John Bozzella, President and CEO for Global Automakers.
