The 2025 Vancouver International Auto Show set a new attendance record for the second consecutive year, with 138,773 visitors. In 2024, the show recorded 129,033 visitors.
This year, the event also saw a record-breaking single-day attendance on Saturday of 42,761 visitors. The show spanned five days and took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre. It featured 30 world-class automotive brands, featuring electric, luxurious and high-performance vehicles, among others.
“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Vancouver International Auto Show,” said Blair Qualey, President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC, which owns and hosts the show. “Not only did we break another attendance record, but we also witnessed incredible interest in the shift towards sustainability and electrification in the automotive sector.”
Qualey added that this year’s show greatly reflected the future of transportation. He said they “couldn’t be more excited” to have shared that vision with the community. One of the event’s popular features this year was the EV and PHEV Test Drive Experience, which saw a record 4,424 consumers drive some of the newest EVs and plug-in hybrid EVs in the country with 49 vehicles from 16 OEMs.
“We are proud to host an event that brings together so many passionate individuals, car enthusiasts, and professionals,” said Eric Nicholl, Executive Director of the VIAS, in a statement. “The turnout we saw this year is a testament to the growing interest and excitement surrounding the future of automotive technology.”
The show drew national and international attention this year, when on the eve of the show organizers asked Tesla not to participate, due to fears over safety of exhibitors and attendees. Protests against the company and vandalism to Tesla vehicles around the world, including protests in B.C., prompted organizers to ask them to withdraw from participating this year.
The show will return to the Vancouver Convention Centre West in 2026 from March 25 to 29, with a continued aim to break boundaries and set new standards for what the auto industry can offer.
