Daimler cuts production due to chip shortage

A global shortage of semiconductors has led a number of automakers to halt production of certain vehicles, with the latest OEM being Daimler. Both OEMs and electronic makers are facing a shortage of chips, one reason being an increased demand from consumers to purchase a vehicle. “The Mercedes maker will reduce production in Bremen,” said Autoblog, adding that “Rival Volkswagen said on Wednesday it would further cut car production at its main plant in northern Germany.” (Source: Autoblog) Read the original article…
