Go Auto giving away 30 cars in 30 days

goAuto-300Recently, Alta-based dealership network Go Auto has announced one of the biggest auto promotions in Canadian history: the Car-A-Day Giveaway.

From April 9 until May 8, the dealer group is giving 30 customers the chance to win 30 cars over 30 days.

So far, Go Auto has given away a $35,000 Nissan Titan pickup, a brand new $45,000 2014 Infiniti Q50 luxury sedan, and several other vehicles to customers all over Alberta and British Columbia. Since customers are entered into the contest the day they buy, there really are some incredible odds — this past Sunday (April 13), customers had a 1 in 53 chance of winning their purchase.

“We have 15 brands participating and more than 7500 vehicles eligible to be won,” said Ben Cochrane, Go Auto’s Vice-President of Marketing. “So no matter what you’re looking for, there’s a good chance we’ll have it.”

Although individual manufacturers have done giveaway promotions before, it is rare to see such an event like Go Auto’s Car-A-Day Giveaway executed at the dealer level.

“Any car-a-day giveaway you’ve seen has been executed by a manufacturer, like Kia, and across an entire country,” said Go Auto President Jared Priestner. “Go Auto, comparatively, operates on a much smaller scale, which changes the dynamics to an extraordinary degree. To give you an idea of how spectacular the odds are for our customers, we’re projecting one winner for every 125 or so purchases. That’s unheard of.”

To further Priestner’s point, Go Auto customers will not be limited to specific brands or prices. Go Auto owns and operates dealerships representing Ford, Dodge, Hyundai, Nissan, Kia, Mazda, and nearly a dozen other automotive brands. Whether their customers buy new or used, $10,000 economy cars or $60,000 luxury sedans, almost any vehicle is eligible.

“We pride ourselves on providing more bang for your buck than any other dealer in the country,” Cochrane said. “The only difference this month is that your purchase could very well be free.”

The giveaway, Priestner says, is all a part of the philosophy of Go Auto, which involves doing a lot more than throwing in simple add-ons during their sales. “It speaks to our philosophy of being heavily involved in the place we live and work,” he said.

“Edmonton is our home. We’re very involved in our communities; we make every effort to give back to the people who support us. We literally would not be here without them, so events like the Car-A-Day Giveaway, more than anything, are our way of saying ‘Thank You’ to the tens thousands of people who do business with us year after year.”
