Dealers looking for additional peace of mind and perhaps lower insurance premiums, might be interested in the likes of Panasonic’s WJ-NV300 video surveillance solution. Designed for use by small and medium-sized business (under which category fall many auto dealerships), the NV300, which is a standalone network video recording solution, delivers full camera viewing, control and recording capabilities through a built-in mouse driven graphical user interface. The NV300 was designed to build on the success of Panasonic’s popular NV200 while adding improvements such as field upgradeable camera expansion, additional video storage capacity and an enhanced dual-screen user interface.
Canadian auto dealer talked with Mike Reynolds, Marketing Manager, Security Products and Business Solutions for Panasonic Canada, who said that key considerations for small and medium-sized businesses, particularly those in the retail sector are competitive cost, flexibility and ease of use. “To configure the NV300, it takes just four screens,” says Reynolds, who notes that the embedded platform (which eliminates the need for PC software) ensures much better reliability and stability. He notes that for those businesses that have multiple locations, like many dealers, this is also an important consideration since there isn’t a need for IT support personnel to visit different facilities when setting up the system.
Reynolds says another key factor is scalability. “The NV300 begins with 16 channels of full HD recording capability but if you need to expand down the road you don’t have to reinvest, you can add more cameras and more storage capacity.” Options include up to 24 or 36 channels (with a WJ-NVE30 8-Camera License Kit). Reynolds says that with more than 55 years of experience in the surveillance marketplace, Panasonic is well-positioned to provide some of the best cost-effective solutions available to its customers. “We know this industry and we challenge our customers and dealers to test us against the competition.” The WJ-NV300 is currently available through Panasonic Canada sales channels.
