Kole Hicks has been appointed by Autocorp Technologies as its new Executive Vice President.
Autocorp Technologies is a Canadian-based fintech company with its head office located in Ottawa, Ont. Autocorp offers a suite of digital retailing products and services primarily focused on credit and financial services to help dealers increase revenue and sales volume through lead generation and credit education, with several new product releases happening in 2020.
“Hicks brings with him a unique understanding of the North American auto industry and a viewpoint from both inside and outside the auto retail world, along with the ability to bring new products successfully to market,” said Andrew Lemoine, CEO of Autocorp Technologies. “Having both sales and operations experience, I am excited for Kole’s leadership and expertise to help bring our company to the next level.”
His experience in the automotive industry dates back to his college years, when his parents were friends with several auto dealers. “It was suggested to me that it would be a good opportunity to start a real career in selling cars,” said Hicks. “My first selling experience was at a Chrysler dealership.”
Hicks was born and raised in Aurora, Ont., and worked for several OEM brands over his career. He moved to Edmonton, Alta., to sell cars for several businesses, including Southtown Chrysler, and learned about the subprime industry.
After more than a decade of experience working within auto retail — including in sales management — Hicks said he was presented with an opportunity to work with Dealertack, a provider of on-demand dealership F&I software. There, he was appointed District Sales Manager for the company, which is now a division of Cox Automotive.
“It was an opportunity to learn a whole new side of the Canadian auto finance landscape and, as a vendor, help dealers with my personal experience,” said Hicks. “It was a wonderful transition that I am still grateful for.”
He then transitioned to a position at digital vehicle inspection software company AutoServe1 — first as Global Sales Director from 2017-2019 before jumping into the role of VP of Sales and Marketing.
“The lessons I learned there have prepared me for this new journey at Autocorp Technologies,” said Hicks. As for his new role, Hicks said he is “super excited” to work with the team.
“We have a team here that is going to be noticed. This team is full of fantastic talent,” said Hicks. “I am very excited to be a part of this organization. If you don’t know who we are, you will.”
Autocorp’s most well-known product to-date is it’s live credit applications from it’s Car Loans Canada division. With recent partnerships with Equifax Canada, Canadian Black Book, and RBC Ventures, Autocorp is gearing up for some exciting product launches in 2020 to help dealers boost quality conversations and take a “Credit First” approach in the new post-COVID19 digital world.
