Jerry Chenkin, president and CEO of Honda Canada will retire at the end of March, ending a career with the company that spans more than four decades. Fellow Honda Canada veteran, Dave Gardner, will step into the role April 1.
Other executive changes include: Barry Holt, EVP and Chief Operating Officer; Jean-Marc Leclerc, senior VP of sales and marketing, Sogo Nakata, senior vice president, Tony Facciolo, VP parts and service; and Orlando Amiccuci, VP, shared services and chief financial officer.
Chenkin, who began his career in Honda’s accounting department in 1975, was named president and CEO in 2013. During his time as president, Honda Canada established record sales levels in its automobile and power equipment businesses. Chenkin also oversaw manufacturing investments totalling more than $1.3 billion, which served to modernize production at the company’s Alliston, Ontario plants.
“Our achievements are the result of the hard work and dedication of the associates at Honda Canada, Honda of Canada Manufacturing and our dealerships across the country,” says Chenkin. “I provided the direction and guidance and our people did the rest. I am so fortunate to have had this amazing experience.”
