Otto to offer mobile automotive services to consumers in Halifax region

Mobile automotive services company Otto has been launched in Halifax Regional Municipality by CAA Atlantic, as new players and company divisions seek an opportunity in an automotive industry that continues to shift and transform.

Dealers will want to be aware of these types of service as they could eat into their own business.

Described by CAA Atlantic as an evolution of its seasonal mobile tire program, Otto will offer a range of automotive services to consumers without the need for them to bring in their vehicle. Instead, the services are offered seven days a week and are brought to the consumer.

“Convenience is the name of the game when it comes to service nowadays, and people are busier than ever, so they’re looking for companies that can give them back time — whether that’s having food delivered to your door, or having new tires installed in your driveway,” said Martyn Sibbald, Chief Innovation Officer at CAA Atlantic.

Otto is paving its way in the auto service space; in a news release CAA described the company as offering an alternative to buying new tires, changing seasonal tires and repairing damaged ones. Otto, like certain automotive companies and retailers, also offers storage for seasonal tires, along with replacement service for batteries and wipers. The company eventually wants to provide more mobile services and expand to other cities in Atlantic Canada.

Otto is also offering an incentive to CAA members, who can save $25 just by being a member — although their services are available to everyone.
