FCA and DealerTrack launch online financing

FCA Canada has become the first OEM in the country to offer an online solution that will enable consumers to initiate the digital purchase of a vehicle. DealerTrack has partnered with FCA Canada to develop website enhancements that “deliver a more efficient, secure and transparent on-line process for vehicle purchases,” said a news release. The enhancements will initially include the option to apply and pre-qualify for new and used vehicle financing.

The solution also includes an enhanced payment estimator for an actual vehicle in-inventory, said the release.

The tool is projected to reduce the time involved with the purchase of a vehicle and will initiate a formal purchase agreement while customers will still need to complete the final purchase transaction at a local dealership, said the release.

FCA is working to offer additional features such as the ability to reserve a vehicle with a deposit and purchase service packages, as well as a trade-in estimator. Approximately 90 per cent of FCA dealerships in Canada will be offering the enhanced websites.

“Today’s consumers have high expectations from their online experience,” said Bill Levasseur, Vice President Sales & Marketing, FCA Canada, in a statement.

“They are extremely well-informed and want control to purchase quickly, with security, accuracy and transparency. Our goal with the dealer website enhancements is to make the car buying experience easier by providing useful, integrated tools which simplify the process and provide consumers peace of mind.”

This is the first time that DealerTrack, a member of the Cox Automotive Group, has partnered with an OEM since releasing its digital retailing technology to the Canadian market in January.
