Vincentric, a data analysis and research firm, has bestowed the 2012 Subaru Impreza five-door hatchback with top honours in it’s first annual “Best Fleet Value in Canada” awards.
In order to determine which vehicles delivered the best overall value to fleet customers in this country, Vincentric analyzed a staggering 1,700 vehicle configurations in 24 different lifecycle cost scenarios, using eight cost factors including depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost and repairs. The lifecycle costs were measured in all ten Canadian provinces, with the resulting 3,000,000 plus lifecycle cost measurements then reviewed to determine the winning vehicles. And when the dust settled, the redesigned 2012 Impreza was given top honours.
“The Subaru Impreza earned our award in the Wagon segment by showing the lowest lifecycle costs in 21 out of 24 lifecycle scenarios measured, proving to be a strong performer whether annual driving distance was high or low,” said David Wurster, President of Vincentric. “Our results showed that the key factor in the 5-door Impreza’s strong value was its low depreciation costs.”
“We are pleased that our award-winning Subaru Impreza has earned yet another accolade,” declared Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada.”The Subaru Impreza offers much more than what’s expected in a compact car and this achievement further strengthens the confidence Canadians have in the value of our brand.”
