Brad Gibson, Sym-Tech's President and COO presents the first scholarship award to Georgian College student Paul Santaera

The first recipient of the new Sym-Tech Automotive Award was presented with the scholarship at an award ceremony at Georgian College (Barrie Campus) on October 25, 2011. Paul Santaera, the recipient, is currently completing a four month co-op term at Sym-Tech.

“I am very proud to be the first recipient of this Scholarship,” says Santaera. “My work experience has added value to my education at Georgian College, and it was a nice bonus to get a co-op placement in addition to the financial assistance.”

The award was presented by Brad Gibson, Sym-Tech’s President and COO. “Santaera has had the opportunity to work in various departments in the company during his co-op term with us,” says Gibson. “It has been great to see our efforts toward training and continuous improvement in the automotive industry in action. We look forward to next year’s recipient of the award.”

The Sym-Tech Automotive Award is available to a student enrolled in their second year of the Business Administration – Automotive Marketing/Automotive Business program at Georgian College who meets all the eligibility criteria for the award.
